Music Therapy Tailored for the Perinatal Community

"Simply put, music can heal people." - Senator Harry Reid (D-NV)
Many people turn to music and the arts to find solace for their soul, an avenue of creative expression that often cannot be found simply in words or conversations. Music has the power to heal, transform, and touch the deepest parts of the soul, making it a powerful complement to therapy.
Music therapy is an evidence-based therapy practice aimed at using music to assist others in achieving their therapeutic goals. Whether you are wanting to improve your connection and attachment to your newborn, processing grief from a recent loss, or wanting to prepare for an upcoming addition to your family, music therapy can be a tool on your journey. Not only can music therapy help with goals like emotional expression and processing, but it can harness the effectiveness of rhythm patterns, melodic phrases, and physical sensations to evoke meaningful and powerful change.
Music therapy is offered by a nationally credentialed music therapist (board certified music therapist, or MT-BC). This credential is earned after intensive studies, a 6-month internship, and a national examination. These clinicians use formal treatment plans and evidence-based interventions to assist their clients in achieving their personal goals and overall wellness.
The Perinatal and Reproductive Wellness Group is pleased to offer music therapy services to our clients by board-certified music therapist, Mackenzie Knick. Please use our contact form to inquire about services offered.
