Becky Gleed, LMFT & PMH-C

Clinical Training & Field Contributions

2007–2010

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Becky completed her Master of Arts at Syracuse University through an Academic Scholarship. She traveled numerous times to Manhattan, New York where she had the opportunity to study with Salvador Minuchin and train at the Ackerman Institute. She attended the AAMFT Emotionally Focused Therapy track in Sacramento, California with Dr. Sue Johnson which further deepened her passion for working with couples.

2010–2013

She completed her clinical residency in the Commonwealth of Virginia at Prince William Family Counseling and received clinical supervision with Dr. Eliana Gil. She supervised Qualified Mental Health Professionals conducting intensive in-home services.

2013–2018

Upon licensure, she continued practicing privately as well as a Senior Clinician with Fairfax County Government, initially with Youth/Family Services then Emergency Services. The Emergency Services team was awarded the Innovation Award 2017. She became a Commonwealth of Virginia Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and proudly served as the Vice Chair of The Alexandria City Local Human Rights Committee and then became Co-Chair when the committee transitioned to the Northern Virginia Regional Human Rights Committee in 2017.

2018–2020

After becoming the mother of two beautiful girls, she realized the paucity of perinatal resources — in both private practice and emergency psychiatric settings. She embraced literature and clinical training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and became a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional.

She created a book series for the perinatal community:

  • A gratitude journal: Thankful for Motherhood

  • A book for working moms: Employed Motherhood: Healthily and Holistically Transition Back to Work after Having a Baby
