Updates & What’s to Come

At the start of this transitional season, I want to take a moment to share what’s been going on in my practice and professional life and look ahead at things to come.

In July, I had the pleasure and privilege to attend the Postpartum Support International conference in Washington D.C. where I presented a poster on adapting cognitive behavioral therapy for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. It was so invigorating to be amongst colleagues, including two women I’ve only known virtually for several years.

My biggest takeaway from PSI: research continues. The conference turnout was bigger than ever, showing a growing community that gives me lots of hope. Diverse resources, agencies and organizations are popping up – and I look forward to launching a tab on my website to share these resources as well as events.

Looking ahead, I’m going to be introducing a panel and promoting my practices at the Motherhood Village Summit in Pompano Beach in September – and I’m particularly excited because I’ll have a Florida-licensed clinician on onboard to check out. (Based in Savannah, Georgia, this new practitioner is licensed in South Carolina as well and will be available for in-person or online sessions.)

This Fall also marks the start of my residency program: I’ll be welcoming two talented women, with deep personal and professional experience (including in music therapy!). Keep your eyes on the website for that announcement.

I know this season is a busy one for all of us, and I’ll look forward to continuing to share resources and news about our dynamic, growing community.
